BARRY GHIGLIONE

Barry was born and raised on a grain farm in Southern Saskatchewan. He graduated from U of S with a Diploma in Agriculture in 1969 and farmed the family farm and worked at various sales and management positions until moving to Saskatoon in 1981. He started the Handy Group of Companies focusing on the all aspects of the rental industry in Saskatoon and area.

Today the business encompasses an equipment rental division providing a wide range of equipment for rent to the homeowner and construction industry, a special event business that focuses on providing rental products for all types of special events, a portable division that provides portable toilets, fencing and storage to both the commercial and special event customers, and most recently a self storage division

With the assistance of family members and about forty-five full time staff the Handy Group of Companies has grown to become Saskatchewan’s largest independent rental business.      

He has been Past president and board member of the Canadian Rental Association ( 1994-2006), past board member of the American Rental Association ( 2003-2006), past president and board member of the NSBA ( 1995-2006)

Barry and his wife Marion have three daughters and two grandchildren. Marion, along with two daughters and one son-in-law are presently working within the business.
