ROBERT FISHER
SaskData Systems

Robert has owned and managed his own data processing business since 1976, and has been involved in data processing and accounting since 1968.  He has extensive accounting and information systems experience in several industries including: health care, oil and gas, mining, forestry, manufacturing and construction.  

He provides training along with implementation of new computer systems and has also taught computer classes at SIAST – Kelsey campus.  Robert has provided technical assistance and collaborated on several projects related to feasibility and implementation of information systems.  He has also worked with clients in developing policies and procedures to match the changing environment of the workplace as a result of implementing information systems.

Robert has specialized in guiding organizations through change, and for the past six years, he has worked under contract as a temporary controller.  He trains the staff, and moves onto the next contract.  

He has been on the Prairie Centre Policy Institute board since July 2003.

Ron is the General Manager of Boychuk Companies in Saskatoon.  He is also president of Briarwood Developments, Cree Lake Air Inc.; and Crystal Lodge Inc.  In his position on the City of Saskatoon Developers’ Liaison Committee, he represents local developers.

Ron attended the University of Saskatchewan, graduating with degrees in Arts & Science, Education and an Advanced Certificate in Science.  He has also completed the Canadian Securities Course and Saskatchewan Real Estate Broker’s Course.  He has had significant involvement in the home builders and real estate industries, holding several leadership positions.

His community involvement includes Past President of the Industry Education Council of Saskatoon, founder of the ‘Hungry Children Food Program’ and City of Saskatoon Social Housing committee.
