ENERGIZING SASKATCHEWAN

Energy Strategy Saskatchewan

  • The Energizing Saskatchewan research project will be conducted in four-phases with the ultimate goal of providing the citizens of Saskatchewan with the knowledge to make better informed alternative energy choices for themselves and the province.

Phase 1 – The survey – ‘Identifying the ‘Don’t Knows’  - to determine the current state of understanding as it relates to energy sources for Saskatchewan; energy insecurities and information gaps.   Also investigate current energy policies and how they effect public perception and alternative energy options.  As part of this information gathering we have developed both a discussion series and a series of commentaries on our alternative energy options in this province.

Phase 2  - The results  - Forming the Energy Network – This group of energy stakeholders will analyze the survey results and develop information modules to address the insecurities and gaps.

Phase 3 - The communicating – Communicating Energy Campaigns - to create opportunities to increase awareness of energy options by delivering information modules based on the survey results, to the citizens of Saskatchewan that will provide an opportunity for interaction and feedback.

Phase 4 - The final report – Following the delivery of the education modules, a reassessment of public awareness will be conducted.  The final report will provide a summary of the entire project and identifies energy policy recommendations for Saskatchewan’s energy future.
